An origin in peace
Being born in Lumbini gave Bhawana an early connection to one of Nepal’s most powerful gifts to the world: the idea that inner transformation can shape how we live together.
Director · Green Tara Foundation
Born in Lumbini. Raised between Kathmandu and Nepalgunj. Presently building from South Africa—and preparing a creative return to Nepal.
Her story
Bhawana’s relationship with Nepal is not abstract. It begins in the birthplace of the Buddha, stretches through the cultural intensity of Kathmandu and the borderland energy of Nepalgunj, and continues through everything she has learned while living abroad.
Being born in Lumbini gave Bhawana an early connection to one of Nepal’s most powerful gifts to the world: the idea that inner transformation can shape how we live together.
Growing up between Kathmandu and Nepalgunj gave her a view of Nepal across different communities, rhythms and realities—a country too layered to be reduced to a single postcard.
Living abroad sharpened the question behind Green Tara Foundation: how can diaspora experience, global relationships and creative energy return home as genuine opportunity?
Bhawana is planning her return to Nepal with a purpose larger than relocation. She wants to build a living bridge between the country that formed her and the people, ideas and creative networks she has encountered beyond it.
As Director of Green Tara Foundation, she is shaping a platform where culture, youth opportunity, music, learning and community can meet—serious in purpose, but alive with colour and imagination.
The high-altitude silent disco vision is part of that journey: an invitation for artists and believers around the world to encounter Nepal through shared sound, respect and possibility.
Returning to Nepal is not only a move home. It is a decision to build a bridge that gives creativity somewhere meaningful to go.The idea guiding Bhawana’s return
